(19/05/2008)Time to store your fur garments

ImageLib_9_125.jpg

During the summer months fur garments and accessories should be put into cold storage. This is a good way to increase the life of your fur garment. Cold storage is used to protect furs from the summer’s heat and humidity which can lead to drying out of the oils in the fur.

It is not ideal to keep your fur garments at home during the summer.

Good storage will help maintain the value and beauty of your garments.

If you are planning on storing your fur contact your local furrier for information.

Additionally, British Fur Trade Association (BFTA) members can provide expert remodelling, fur coat cleaning and fur coat conditioning services.

After a harsh winter, solvents, salt, dust, dirt and other destructive agents should be gently removed from your fur coats and accessories.

Professional cleaning will help preserve fur garments and accessories, extending their life span and assuring you years of enjoyment.
